Ann’s Van is a mobile food van serving healthier food alternatives since 2016. The ever-smiling Ann has over 10 years of caring to her own organic farm with fruit, vegetables and herbs while living in the Belgian countryside. This experience impacted her mindset towards food production and cooking in general. “Now I am aware of how much we take simple things for granted and how under-appreciated farmers are in this day and age”, she says.
All the food she serves, including chutneys, jams and dips, are entirely prepared with her own hands and using locally produced ingredients whenever possible. Her food is inspired mainly by the Mediterranean, North African and Middle Easter cuisines and flavor-profiles. The menu changes according to seasonal produce and the freshest ingredients available at the time.
Last year Ann started a trend of offering a free cup of organic coffee to whomever filled a bucket of litter from outside. She remarks: “I care for the environment, why shouldn’t I? It’s the most important thing I am leaving to my daughter and I learnt to make the environment a priority in my lifestyle many years ago.” Ann also uses Eco-friendly packaging, straws and disposables for her business.
Ann caters also for vegetarians and vegans and has always an exciting selection of savory delicacies, healthy cakes as well as her home-made smoothies, teas and lemonades.
